How come when I was a kid we went around with a carved out turnip with a candle in for "Penny for Halloween" and literally got a penny at each house if we were lucky.
Nowadays the UK kids have adopted "trick or treat" and the kids come around dressed as vampires or zombies often with huge carved pumpkins and expect mountains of sweets or loads of money (definitely not 1p) .... my generation and previous ones have certainly missed out here
I suppose I'll have to buy some sweets in ready for tomorrow .... I'll buy loads of "Bah Humbugs" there's a credit crunch you know lol
Just kidding I've got plenty sweets ready (I value my windows)
