then does it follow that chilli is good for the digestive system, after all it only burns twice, at the entry point and the departure point. Being married to an Indian woman for 36 years (37 on 20 June) I have acquired a taste for chilli, in fact I can't eat a meal without it. We have relatives that we stare at in absolute awe, as they sit ouside to eat near the chilli bush then pick their chillis straight from the bush and eat them seeds and all. My wife is a bit more refined and stews them with mustard oil, garlic, ginger, and onion and the whole house reeks of Chilli for a week; she then hot-bottles it and that will last us for most of the year or we supplement it with Nando's Extra Hot sauce. I had a bout of Gastritis, or an imflammation on the lining of the stomach, caused by gobbling anti-inflammatories for my crook back last year and the chilli I eat is well diluted with tomato sauce or ketchup as the Americans call it. Americans eat dried beans which I believe is a dietry thing imported from south of the border, (Hey Lunna!!). My brother in law used work for an Inland Food Company in California and brought home samples of dried and refried beans which he used live on; to say they tasted like shit is a compliment, people who put disgusting stuff like that into their digestive system have no taste buds or respect for their digestive system. I think possibly horse shit would have a better flavour, even without the obligitory chilli!! There is nothing nicer than a piece of KFC or an American Hot Dog with a nice preserved chilli on top, it is something I believe they would serve in heaven, if only to remind the inmates of what the alternative could have been. I f confession is good for the soul, then my stomach lining has a nice clean look to it, I can thoroughly recommend it! |
