are you home from work/school today?
They cancelled school today because the power went out on campus, but even though they had working computers and servers, they failed to let us know! So after getting up too early and spending forever chipping a quarter to a half inch of ice off the windows and windshield, we drove to school only to find there was no there there.

A day off is much better if you learn about it before you show up for work.

I wish I didn't have to go to class tonight. We got some ice, but not enough to do anything but delay/cancel morning classes.

Yep, "snow day" today, 20 inches total. The winds have quieted down, the sun is shining, just spent 2 hours outside exploring the neighborhood, walking down the middle of the traffic free roads, trudging through waist high snow, scaling the towering snowdrifts, a lot of fun and much beauty.

It was a mixed bag last night with high winds, ice, snow, thunder and lightening. We probably have around 2 feet of snow atm ..... drifts can be more like 4-6 depending on where. It is currently still snowing, but the bigger fluffier kind.

We got freezing rain last night and now have trees with those the magical looking ice covered branches—the sort you can't help but love right up until they fall on the power lines.

What former TV actress could, according to the series' opening song, "turn the world on with her smile"?

A smile? blink love If Josie walked outside looking like she does in the AV all the snow would just melt.

grin

I called in to work today, after the nightmare driving home last night I wasn't about to turn around and repeat the experience this morning.

It's been a mixed bag today. For a while the sun was shining this morning, although the wind was still blowing. Listening to the scanner all day the highway crews are saying as soon as they get a road open it drifts back closed.

We had a little more snow today, another half inch to an inch around noon, but now the sun is shining again. It's still windy, but not as bad as it was.

My mother in law, who lives just outside of town, said that she had six foot deep drifts in her driveway and the road to her house is closed. They haven't plowed it since six oclock last night. My father in law, an OTR truck driver is in Texas and keeps bragging about the sun shining and warm weather. curse curse

On a more positive note, I went out earlier to try and dig my truck out. Last night I'd barely made far enough into the drive to get it off the street. Of course, the city had plowed the street and the snow was piled up as high as the top of the tailgate.

While I was doing this a guy with a plow on his pickup asked if I wanted him to pull me out. After he got me out he plowed my drive and wouldn't take a dime for doing so.

There are still nice people in this world. thumbup1 thumbup1 thumbup1

i was in a hurry to get the snow cleaned up that i wasn`t paying attention and broke my mailbox with the tractor loader. angry now i have it cobbed up so that it won`t fall down. the gas delivery guy backed into it last month and repaired it plus bought me a new box. now i fucked it up myself. the ground it too frozen to bury a new post so the fucking thing is crooked and wobbly. angry rolleyes
