Medicare Scam

Every day I get telemarketing calls from people who claim that they can get me more benefits from Medicare. Usually, I hang up on them. but today I stayed on the line long enough to be asked what my Medicate number is. At this point I hung up. I called Medicare and asked if I should give my Medicate number to anyone who calls and asks for it. I was told that no I never should. If an unauthorized person gets my Medicare number that person can make claims against my account.
