"The Pearl Fishers" opera by Georges Bizet has some beautiful music, but the plot is rather lame. Two pearl fishers fall in love with the same woman. They decide not to court her because they value their friendship with each other more. It never occurs to them that she might want both of them. They could have established a ménage à trois, and done three somes together. 2c
