The pet eating rumor seems to stem ultimately from a black dude (and influencer on social media) saying it. He is a local resident of Springfield, OH, and he made the accusation at a city council meeting or similar meeting.

The bigger problem in Springfield seems to be the Haitians used as cheaper labor, and locals are getting laid off and replaced at half the wage.

There was a newspaper report on that -- and it wasn't a 'newspaper' like Breitbart, it was a real one. MSN news aggregator had it, I think the Yahoo news aggregator had the story too. People are losing their jobs, and Haitians are taking the blame.

I just heard a report on the situation in Springfield OH on ABC Radio News, which contained a rather glowing report on all the employers who love hiring the 21K Haitians at their facilities -- so, yeah, there is a problem there that ISN'T the 'eating of cats and dogs (and geese)' but the antagonism appears to be based on what amounts to outsourcing and replacing American labor directly with migrant labor.

I'm an American and I've never heard of or seen anyone eating cats and dogs anywhere here, if so we wouldn't have an over population of strays lol
