Mrs Ch has spent eight days in hospital.

She was outside in bare feet and stood on some aggregate and went over dislocating her left knee and patella and tearing her knee ligaments.

Her leg was at 90 degrees for about an hour and even though St Johns gave her painkillers she was still screaming. I felt so helpless.

Anyway she is home how with a bespoke brace and we are to see a knee surgeon in couple of weeks.

Unfortunately she can hardly move and I’m player nurse.

The hospital is also arranging for a district health nurse to come every other day and Accident Compensation Corporation will pay for rails in bathroom and toilet to be installed which will be better than what we currently are using.

Thank god for universal health care and ACC that’s all I can say.
