my wife has arthritis in her hands so many mornings she asks for help putting on a necklace and/or bracelet...the problem is my eyesight ain't what it used to be and i keep my fingernails short...so i have a hard time keeping the clasp open and seeing where the little loop is that hooks into it.

anyone else have this problem and how did you overcome it

Yup. The solution is to sell the jewelery and buy beer with the proceeds. No more jewelery problem and after a few beers you won't care anyway.

I think they make a lil "jewelry helper thing". My aunt uses one. I wish I knew more about it, but I think it's like a tiny pole that helps you grip the clasp? I'm sure someone knows what it is and where you might find one.... unsure

Maybe some close up reading glasses so you could see tiny details better. 2c

ahhh....
I did a lil research and it really IS called the Jewelry Helper. They sell 'em at Walter Drake for $4.99. Might be worth a try, but may not work for her either?

You can also buy extensions that attach to the ends of the necklace that fasten with a powerful magnet. I would be afraid I would lose my jewelry though.

I have also bought attachments that have very large claps on them for some of mine, it has worked out well.

Mr. Sin, if that was real jewelry, crooks would break the glass and steal. Sorry to burst your bubble(gum)
