The main benefit for the html5 player on desktop systems is that it lets you seek to anywhere you want in the video and start playing it from that point immediately.

lenny, I'm running Chrome on a Windows 7 machine....there's a slight delay as the video loads, but it does work in HTML

If I use IE they both work. I really don't see any difference between html and flash.

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) and using firefox but when I try to play a video in HTML 5 it says something about no supported file format. It does work playing it in flash though.

I suggest you use Chrome. Having said that, using the flash player is fine as the actual video you are seeing through it is identical.
