You should have a new members browsing section: you know, like a section reserved for new members only, so that the NN community can have a direct port to all the new bloods! For support & encouragement! 
This way we can also search for people we might actually know in the outside world! (the idea of finding someone from work or other social circles turns me on) Just another thought!
