Truelyinnocentone's blog post - Rainy wet and grey here today.............

Woke up to a beautiful sight this morning.... It had rained all night and the streets were all wet, it was early (6:30 am....once the sun is up I cant sleep)It as so quiet and peaceful out and that is such a rare thing here in town that when you do get it you really appreciate it a lot.......It was so nice to get up and smell the rain...
But then.......after I had all the morning chores done and the things that needed done did... Like pick all the ripe tomatoes from the garden, we got 10 today with about 6 more ready probably tomorrow........we were off to the mother in laws house to work on our other truck...the sister in law had borrowed it and blew the head gasket....so we get to fix it....the rain had stopped here so the ground was wet but that was it...(ok I admit it I was a little wet too...but hey you have to dry up to make that the news of the day and since I am always dripping....well ya know) anyway.....we get out there and what do you know....raining like hell!!!!!!!!!!

So we thought that we would offer ourselves up to a few yard sales that we had seen along the way and passed up in hopes of working on the truck.....didn't find a whole lot but I did find a nice box of silverware for only $2.00. Had about 50 pcs of forks knives and big and small spoons...You see it was the small spoons that i was after as when we have company over and they bring their kids, those are the ones to get lost and the drawer was simply void of them....JACKPOT!!!!!!! So now i have plenty of them..that is until they are lost again to never be seen..........

Kind of a lazy day today due to the weather and oh how good it makes those of us with arthritis feel.....barely moving but damn it I am moving.......So i thought a bit about it and decided that it was a beef stew day today....Found some venison stew meat in the deep freeze so it was to be a venison stew instead.......now we are in business.....the real deal here now....so with about 2 pounds of meat, a bulb of garlic and 2 large onions I started in to make my man a real meal that would warm him up...got this all going and headed to the freezer once again to get the beef stock that I had made from the last roast we had...this is gonna be good......some carrots, corn from the cob, peas,(nope not the fresh ones I got from Pauline...I had those last friday for lunch)a few potatoes, and some onion soup mix. Set her to simmer and then in to sit a few to rest my back............

Got to thinking about it a bit and thought well I am not in the mood for just plain ole bread and butter....so after about 30 seconds I decided that some buttermilk biscuits were in order...so in I went and got them going so that they would be done when the stew was done... they were ready to go into the oven and the stew was about done....a bit of cream in the stew and it was all done, a quick peek in the oven and the biscuits were done also...got some fresh made raspberry jam from the pantry slathered it on a few biscuits and a nice big dish of stew for Cory......

Man was he surprised, he thought we would have a light dinner since I was not feeling up to par........first thing he said was wow smells great!

The kids even ate it with out a complaint.........so it turned out to be a nice day after all and after I had a nice dinner I was off to get a few pain pills and lay down to relax.....but first off I had to let all of you know you are all in my thoughts and send kisses to you all.

Also our little dog is knocked up....this I dont mind as they are good money makers(we usually get $300 to 450 each for them)
