1 Betty crocker super moist cake mix
All ingredients for cake except oil
I can of pineapple slices in juice. Save juice
1 c. Brown suggah
1/4 c. melted buddah

In a 5 or 6 qt spray with cooking spray.
Add brown suggah & buddah.
Drain & reserve juice from 1can sliced pineapple
Layer pineapple add a cherry in each if you like.

Make cake mix except do not use the oil, use the pineapple juuce. If it is shy if 1 c. just add enough water.
Pour over pineapple brown suggah mix. Set crock pot on high. Check it around 2 1/2 hrs. Check every 15 min till done in the center. I have had them be ready as early as the 2 1/2 hr mark and as late as 3 hrs.
Pull the crock out when done, let cool about 15 or so, then invert it onto a large cookie sheet

Its been hectic since Harvey made landfall here in Texas. My little spot here at the resort is lucky, damn lucky. We have had over 2 foot of rain, but we still have electric, water and sewer. Internet is a bit sketchy but we have cell service too. Amazed.
There are many people less fortunate than we are right now. We are all safe and for the most part dry. We have food , dry clothes & the ability to wash clothes. We have made sure everyone in here is fed even if their supplies are gone. No pet is going hungry wither. We have some amazing people in here in my little part of Texas.
One permanent guest is a bread delivery person, he made sure we have bread. We have another gentleman that works for the water department, he has made sure we are all up to date on the fact that we will have safe water.
There are 6 generators in here plus 4 built in ones in motor coaches. We have the ability to give power to everyone if they need. Thank goodness we haven't needed them yet.
I make a check twice a day door to door to see how everyone is fairing & if they need anything. I have received calls and text messages from past guest checking to see if we are going well. That amazes me to no end.
Starting Friday we will be housing insurance adjusters as they make their way here to the Houston area to start processing claims for people who have lost almost everything they own.
Can you imagine having to decide what you can carry in your arms when the rescuers come for you? Can you imagine sitting by and feeling helpless watching people suffer knowing there isn't a damn thing you can do at the moment to help them because you can't get there safely yourself? Can you imagine being in labor walking through chest deep water trying to find help? Can you imagine not knowing if you have anything left when you get to return to places like Corpus or Rockport? Can you imagine?
I am here and I am one of the lucky ones and I can't even wrap my brain around it. People are traumatized here, in shock, but after they realize they are safe for the moment , they are turning to help those beside them. They are wanting to help people who are losing everything too. There, for the most part is a domino effect going on here. One person helps this person and that person helps the next and the next helps the next and so on.
It makes me proud of my new home, proud of the people in Texas. It breaks my heart for my new home, breaks my heart for these people of Texas at the same time.
There really is no point to this blog other than I needed an outlet and crown is too far to drive to get.
My thoughts are with all Texans here on NN, my thanks to all that have asked how we were doing , who have worried over us and offered everything from a should or ear to materialistic things. I am fine but many are not. I urge you to extend the wonderful things you have extended to me and extend them to others far worse off than I am.

These are a few of the things. If you donate, the best places are the TV stations, every station here has an affiliate station across the country. Call them, ask them where to drop things off, where your area has a donation center setup for those people in Texas that need our help.

Whatever happened to the concept of that's why we are having sex/making love/ the dance with no oants with a our partner? If he starts doing the cabbage patch afterwards then yes, but in the normal scope of intimacy if my orgasms make him feel good because he satisfied me (isn't that the idea?) then I as a self confident woman don't have problem one with it.

Its been a whirlwind of a summer. The move from Mn. to Tx. A new life style, new job, new rig on the way, reconnecting with the one who makes makes my black heart go twitter pat, madness of school some sadness (my little faithful hound), trip to the gulf and dinner with the old reprobate.
As promised the first KOTC was the one I was to relay from TC, the pics tell the whole story. The WTF moment to damn y'all got me good.
Not my first dinner with Tux/Old Trubador but it had been a while. The last time we had dinner it came complete with an overnight blizzard, this time it was a normal H-town night; muggy & hot. Didn't matter we were all going to dinner.
My buddy Imprelis (no not the twitter patter)cruised north a few exits and grabbed Tux at the truckstop. I had already told him we were going somewhere for dinner and that it was cheap & off the beaten path- sorta like him.
The place is called fish tales in Cleveland, Tx. A true hole in the wall in a strip mall, complete with step up to the counter, find you a place to light & we'll bring your meal when its ready. Nothing fancy but clean and spacious. Boudain balls, mushrooms and fried oysters for appetizers, catfish, hush puppies fries and shrimps for entrees. Yes down here on the Gulf you make shrimp plural, that is just the way it is, and is perfectly acceptable grammar. After dinner we took some time to chat in the parking lot before leaving ( Tux & I needed after dinner smokes lol)before deciding to head back to the truck stop. On the way up I had to take the kiddie seat in the single cab pickup ( I mean honestly, wasn't gonna make Tux ride in the bed), on the way back, ol' skinny butt got that seat.
It was still early and not quite dusk so we all decided to grab a picnic table and set as they say 'round here "a spell".We chatted, caught up on things, poked fun at each other, told old road stories and the like. After a few hours (seemed like 10 minutes) we had to think about heading back to the resort to walk the hounds and call it a night.
I have had the pleasure of meeting numerous NN folks in my 5 plus years here, but Tux is the only one I have met on multiple occasions in multiple states.I have hugged, had meals, dating, called internationally and even one member help me move 1400 miles. I can't think of any site I've ever been on in my internet life where I have met so many wonderful people. The list is about 50/50 of those I have met & those I still want to meet someday.Been so long since I posted pics in a blog, lets see if this works

Tonight I lost the best thing that ever had a set of testicles- My little doxie Keno. Keno peeps and I have been together for 26 years. I got him in Oregon when he was 5 weeks old and he was my best buddy from day one. We traveled together in the big truck, we retired from the road together. We moved 1/2 way across the country a couple of times. Several NNers had the privilege of knowing him first hand and how loving and silly he could be. I am heartbroken and miss him already. Tomorrow I'll find a grassy patch here in Texas and put him to bed for the last time. I will never forget how he saw his first butterfly and ran after it mimicking the trail the butterfly took. I'll remember how he would twang the door stopper with his paw to let someone know it was time to open the door. His little harp seal bark. I will remember my little man always.

As I usually do of an evening I drag my laptop outside. I was browsing status and a little lady bug landed on my screen. I see things as signs, so I went to see what a lady bug means. They have always been considered good luck to farmer's & gardeners but I wanted to see what else.


The ladybug is a member of the beetle family. They are found in nearly all climates. They are hemispheric in shape, have short legs and are usually bright colored with black, yellow or reddish markings. The females lay eggs.

Their life cycle requires about four weeks, so several generations are produced each summer. This cycle ties the ladybug to the energies of renewal and regeneration. Those who may have this totem are usually family oriented with strong morals and social values.

The name lady bug finds its origins in the middle ages when this beetle was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and called the "beetle of our lady." This name links the ladybug to spiritual ideals and religious devotion. It also holds a link to mothers.

This tiny little beetle brings with it a powerful message. Because the life cycle of the adult ladybug is short it teaches us how to release worries and enjoy our lives to the fullest. When it appears in our life it is telling us to let go

An adult ladybug can consume several thousand aphids and other scale insects within a few months. Since aphids & other insects can be harmful to crop production, farmers and growers have long considered the ladybug a good omen.

The ladybug is also one of the few beetles that are well liked by humans. Unlike other beetles, the ladybug brings a feeling of joy to us. Its small size signifies a delicate and loving nature. It portrays the energy of harmlessness.

The shell on its back protects it from predators. Its wings fold against the body serving to protect its soft underside. Ladybugs have sharp instincts and feel vibrations through their legs. This allows them to sense energy of whatever they touch and is another form of protection. In spite of the ladybug's size, it appears to be fearless.

Seen often as a messenger of promise, the ladybug reconnects us with the joy of living. Fear and joy can not co-exist. We need to release our fears and return to love - this is one of the messages that the ladybug brings to us.

Ladybug teaches us how to restore our trust and faith.
