Thursday, April 17, 2008, 2:45:30 AM- Midlife Crisis or Gas Crisis
I went out tonight and bought a 150cc Moped. I will look silly riding it but at 70+ mpg it will save me some $$ on gas. I had to get something that can do highway speeds in small distances. I live in the boonies and have to take a highway to get anywhere. Anybody wanna go for a ride??? <---said in my sexiest scooter mama voice.

Winter seems to want to just hang around this year. Last weekend it was in the 70's, today snow flurries. I am beginning to question the idea of global warming.

Saturday, April 12, 2008, 12:59:09 AM- Have you ever had one of those days?
When all of sudden something clicks and you see a situation much clearer? I see things clearly now, maybe I did before and just didn't want to acknowledge it. How do I explain what I am feeling to do the people involved? That is going to be the tough part, but I am not very good at keeping my thoughts to myself. One of the triggers this morning was when the Crematorium called. My brothers ashes are ready to be picked up. He had donated his body to the local university and then he was to be cremated when they were done. I just did not expect it for a few more months. I have been thinking all day about all the things he had left undone and the people he left behind. He was only 49, he thought there was always going to be more time to do what he wanted and to find love again in his life. I don't want to end my days that way................

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shone his flashlight around, looking for valuables; and when he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you." He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light on and began searching for more valuables. Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you." Freaked out, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot. Did you say that?" he hissed at the parrot. "Yep," the parrot confessed, then squawked, "I'm just trying to warn you." The burglar relaxed. "Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?" "Moses," replied the bird. "Moses?" the burglar laughed, "What kind of people would name a bird Moses?" "The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus."

Saturday, April 5, 2008, 4:41:09 AM- I can't wait to get old..
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So my wife called him a sh* t-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, we didn't care...we came into town by bus. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.

Thursday, April 3, 2008, 2:51:20 AM- From John McCain's speech
That is the good cause that summons every American to service. If you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you are disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. I hope more Americans would consider enlisting in our Armed Forces. I hope more would consider running for public office or working in federal, state and local governments. But there are many public causes where your service can make our country a stronger, better one than we inherited. Wherever there is a hungry child, a great cause exists. Where there is an illiterate adult, a great cause exists. Wherever there are people who are denied the basic rights of Man, a great cause exists. Wherever there is suffering, a great cause exists. --------------------------------------------------------------my thoughts - I think every capable young person should have to do some kind of service for their community to complete their education.. Not Military necessarily, helping the less fortunate, something for the enviroment. Just something to better the community in general.
