Alas this does not involve me touring the world with my boobs out. We are however heading out to the US for our yearly visit soon and am planning some stuff to see and do.

We'll be visiting relatives and friends for much of the time but do actually have some spare time to do some touristy stuff this time around.

We'll be in Pensylvannia a lot of the time (which is pretty new to me anyway) so wondered if anyone has any suggestions for cool places, great touristy things to see, excellent places to eat etc.

I've done a bit of Googling and there are some obvious things to visit in Washington DC (which is roughly where we'll be), but wondered if anyone knows of any hidden gems that aren't the norm... Not necessarily historical (though that's good) - quirky and weird is also good

I love planning travel!

Sorry hun. Can't really help until you get past the Ohio River. Midsouth and Midwest and West maybe I can help. But have fun in the area you are going to, it will be great! I promise.

In DC, the Spy Museum is great and the Crime and Punishment Museum is also lots of fun. There are the Smithsonian museums on 'The Mall' which are amazing but if you want things 'off the beaten path' these are two good options.
