Gift PremiumHello thanks for looking at my profile. I'm hard working and don't get a lot of time to let my hair down these days. I'd describe myself as a cross between Jerry Lewis's Nutty Proffessor and a kinder version of the Grinch. :) I'm here to chat to anyone who want to chat. lol

My first week for losing weight wents ok! I am not really on a diet as such as yet as for the past week I've just been checking the internet for different ideas and diets and stuff but I've found 2 that I am really interested in trying out. One is a diet used by over weight patients who need to lose aload of weight fast for opporations and stuff. The second is a body building diet. So far this week has gone good I've joined the gym and now can proudly call my self a gym member! lol I've got a computer key and chart thing all set up and ready to go. I've cut out the crappy foods and stuff and been to the gym 3 times this week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. I almost didn't make the Friday session as I could hardly move. (lol) I'm still not 2 sure about the whole gym experience. They are all nice and helpful but I think its a part of being lazy and not ever doing something like this before. ![]() My stats have changed a little as I've lost a pound! Wooo Hooo I'd also like to thank everyone whos sent me PM's and thanks to Brian and sarina5169 for your help and great comments!!! they are very much appretiated! The week coming up I'm starting the hospital diet for about 2 weeks then I'm gona see how it goes and then try the body building diet. Hopefully I'll be able to see the difference in each diet to dedermin which one is the one that will give me the best results in the time I've given myself.

| Monday, March 26, 2007, 10:01:52 AM- First let me introduce myself. | ||||||
I live in a quiet town in West Yorkshire, I’m am average student studying a few courses at the moment. The courses I am studying give me more spare time than I thought, which means even after the general course work I have over 5 hours or more spare each day! I have to admit I’m more shy than outgoing in nature. With my spare time I have noticed more and more about how many channels are devoted to fitness equipment, pills, lotions and stuff saying they can get you thin quick! I’m a big TV watcher but never really took any notice of the adverts until last week when a friend mentioned how hard it was as a woman to live up to the perfect body stereotype. I wasn’t really shocked as to finding out how women are portrayed in the magazines, TV, etc as it’s been going on for so long. But it did shock me how much my friend worried about it as she is more or less perfectly formed, she isn’t large or small. She is a bonny lass and in a happy relationship but she still worries she isn’t good enough. If you look at her she’s a happy go lucky type of girl that has boundless amounts of self confidence but she has said on a few occasions, she isn’t as self-confident and happy as she would like to be. She has mentioned getting a boob job which shocked me the most. She doesn’t like needles and hates hospitals and yet she is still adamant in wanting a larger breast size, because she thinks it will give her more confidence. It got me thinking on how my self-confidence would change as to whether I was thin rather than as my doctor would say “Obese!” although I can’t see how she could complain that I’m obese when she isn’t silth like herself. (Lol) I’m not what you would call a athletic person and my body shape shows it! (Lol) My weight tops out at just under 20 Stones, being just over 6 foot tall I carry the extra weight well, but I still have the beer belly and man boobs. (Lol) I have to admit for the past 3 or 4 years I have disliked the weight gain. Especially the man boobs. Although I have to admit I do have a prity damn good cleavage. (he he he) but all jokes aside I have noticed as my weight increases my self-confidence decreases. As body types go I’m a 1 out of 10.  Since thinking about body shapes and the stereotypical man and woman, I have noticed more and more how men are being targeted too, although not as much as women but enough to realise a few things i.e. athletic men get more interest than fat men from women, fat is bad and muscle is good, etc. I have also heard employers are more likely to employ thinner applicants as to the larger ones. I am unsure as to whether this is true or false so I am going to put it to the test. (so to speak) I am going to test whether all the modern day TV adverts are true as to say when you are thin you:- Feel better Look better Have more confidence More employable More attractive to the opposite sex Fit into the crowd more And so on. As I’ve never really been a thin guy I am interested to find a few of these things out to see whether or not it is possible to change your attitude and to see if looking good on the outside gives you a feeling inside. I am going to join a gym and start to try and lose some weight, I have set my target weight as 14 stones as that is a normal weight range for my age and height, which means I’m going to be losing over 6 stones over all. I’ve done a few diet things before but got bored with them and never really lost weight so I’ve set myself a deadline of 10 months starting from 2day. Each week I’m going to post on here how the week has gone (Good or Bad) (Lol) I’m not expecting to be Michelangelo’s DAVID after the 10 months (he he he) but I am hoping I change mentally a swell as physically.
