This morning I experienced one of those perfect moments in time. Driving in my car, no traffic on the road and no smog in the air, sunny and warm and dry, blue skies dotted with puffy little white clouds, wind in my hair (OK, it was the A/C's fan but wind sounds better), and then my favorite old Beach Boys song came on the radio. It was two-and-a-half minutes of perfection.
It's because of those moments - and knowing I can easily get a change of scenery and climate by driving an hour to the mountains or an hour and a half to the ocean - that I'm a California Girl and will always be one. (Earthquakes be damned.) |
