I have been reading some blogs here lately and noticed there have been quite a few blogs regarding kids going off to college and how it can be tough to see them off when being a parent. I too have experienced this. My wife and I had taken our son up to UGA this fall, on top of it, there are no more kids in the house so we are officially empty nesters. It was kind of sad but looking at the positives, it’s a great seeing you kids go off the college. A whole new chapter for them and you too. My wife has been a bit down but she’ll be fine, I actually feel a bit closer to her now being it’s just us and I think she feels the same.
I always remember a saying from the comedian/actor Bill Cosby. He stated:
Your Kids: Grab hold of them and hug them. Hug them so tight they can barely breath….....then let them go. |
