Mickxxx's blog post - Getting ready for Thanksgiving

Anybody ever fry a turkey? I have been doing it since I moved down south and I’ll tell ya, it comes out great each time as well as only taking about 35 five minutes or so (3 minutes per pound). A lot people think its dangerous and it can be, if you do it incorrectly. If you do it the correct way, it’s not dangerous at all.

Heres the incorrect way of doing it:

And heres the correct way to do it as displayed by my friend from the Food Network, Alton Brown. Granted his method of the lowering system is a bit over the top, but he knows what he’s doing:

Going to make a white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake later for tomorrow. I made this one time before and it came out awesome.

I just took the cornbread out of the oven, it smells like Thanksgiving already. I’ll be using this for the cornbread stuffing for tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and remember one thing before you’re about to sit down and fill yourself with turkey...."Turkey’s eat their own waste”...Hehe. Enjoy!

I lovvvvvvvve fried turkey!! We always fry a bunch and give em to our lil old neighbors. ;) (they seem to think the skin's the best part) ~~So glad all the leftovers are gone after that "waste" comment!
