NerdyBird's blog post - *sigh*

So, hereI was last night, trying to add a quick little video to NN, and my internet decides to bug out. Now I can't connect at all, and I am being xxxxxx to check my favorite porn site through the family computer.

There really is no point in the, I just wanted to bitch a bit, because I am ready to chuck my computer down our hill and run over it with a car.

But, on that note, hopefully I will have things figured out soon, or even better maybe my computer will magically fix itself, and I will be back with bells on my toes. smile

that could be a number of things causing that...could be hardware or software, i wish i was near you to walk you thru it.you need someone to test yr NIC and see if its good or bad. if its not that i would say run some maintenance programs, theres several free ones available thru majorgeeks.com. i use C Cleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, and MalwareBytes. if i can help let me know.

Yeah, I normally am pretty on top of keeping things cleaned up, but I have been slacking lately. On my old computers I always had cc cleaner, but on this one a friend of mine recommended Malwarebytes and Spybot-search and destroy.

I am starting to wonder if it might be my wifi card, though. Everything that did not need the internet worked fine.

Thank you though :)

you have the right attitude miss owl computers work better if they fear you just keep it convinced you would rather chuck it in a dumpster as look at it and they work better *FER REALZ*

wifi can be picky...and yes sometimes they just fix themselves a suggestion if its giving you fits shut it down as gracefully as possible (i have had the yank the power cord out of the wall sometimes...graceful can be a real low bar :-/ ) turn it *OFF* wait thirty seconds then turn it back on and try again networking can be particular and a warm boot (<ctrl-alt-delete>) does not thoroughly reset all the hardware a power off/power on does consider it whacking your computer up side the head...works about the same and oh so satisfying when its pissin ya off :D
