NoGloryDyingOld's blog post - The Wonder Years

Saturday, September 24, 2011, 6:39:47 PM
I just spent 2 hours watching The Wonder Years and it always makes me wish I lived in the 60's. There's so many aspects that I love about that era. I love how families interacted back then, I love childhoods in those times, I love how everything was simple and lovely and how life went through so many lessons. People just seemed so much more....real. I also love the hippie aspect - i'm a hippie at heart and I love the episodes with Kevin Arnold's sister. I like how they show real news clips of how the world was changing. The politics, the drama, the changing values. It makes me think back to my wonder years, my childhood, and I remember what it felt like to skin my knee on a skateboard, surf all day with my best friends, and my first kiss on the ferris wheel at Santa Monica pier. My childhood was full of ballet and surfing, skateboarding and sneaking off to music concerts. It was drastically different from the stories told on the show, but they're *my* wonder years, and I love them all.

I'm curious though - what was sex like in the 60's? I know it was changing, but in what ways? Would love some input from you guys smile

Here is a short story that I wrote about some of my sex in sixties. I hope you like it.

Is It OK To Lie To Your Girlfriend??

Well this story takes place in the early seventies just after I returned from Viet Nam and was going to school on the GI bill. I had a wonderful girlfriend named Mona. She was not perfect, but things were pretty good for us for a long time. Of course, I am not perfect either. I had never lied or cheated on her, but I was still aware there were lots of pretty girls around and the thought had crossed my mind. On her part, it was uncontrolled jealousy that I believe was her worst imperfection. On the plus side, she was just about the horniest girl I had ever known. At this stage of or relationship sex was great. That is not how things started out. When we met, Mona was a card carry virgin. It took awhile to overcome this, but once she capitulated, sex was actually more important to her than me. This was a wonderful first for me and I did my very best to keep up.

The worst object of her jealously was this girl who was in several of her classes. I had to listen to her bitch about this bitch for months before I ever even saw her. Mona’s complaint with this girl had to do with her outrageous dress. This was a wonderful time in history when the sexual revolution was in full swing and the woman’s movement was primarily focused on a girls right to get laid and not be treated like a whore. This was the era of the mini skirt and the no bra look. Then for a few short months, the no bra look with a very sheer blouse was all of the rage. It was a great time to be alive. Mona complained that this particular girl wore her skirts so short you could see that she was not wearing panties and her blouses were so sheer that you could see her nipples. Sounded like a wonderful creature to me, but I dare not admit it. It was not her skimpy dress the really irked Mona, but how this bitch used this look to manipulate men, in particular professors and teaching assistants. The girl was always walking to the head of any line and interrupting the help her classmates were receiving for own problem whatever it may be. Also, Mona was certain that the girl was having sex with these men in exchange for special consideration on tests and assignments and even grades.

Well finally one day Mona pointed this girl out to me and she was pretty much right about how she dressed, micro mini skirt, sheer blouse and no bra with sexy spiky high heels. The girl had a very trim but at the same time very generous figure. Of course my opinion was, if a lady is built like that it is her obligation to show it of as much as the law will allow. I made a conscious decision to keep my opinion to myself.

Well one morning, I was on my way to the chemistry library, which was on the second floor of the science building when I saw this lady walking towards me. She looked great. You could see every curve of her breast and her cute little pink nipples. Her very shapely legs were attached to a truly magnificent butt that was just barely covered by a skirt that she had obvious raised the hem on to the legal limit. She turned right in front of me and started to walk up the same stairs that I had to. As we as approached the stairs, all I could think of was if Mona was right and she was not wearing panties. As soon as she hit the stairs, I could tell that my prayers had been answered. I was mesmerized. I followed her up the stairs until she went in the building. It was then that I realized I was on the fourth floor. This was completely subconscious on my part. I just laughed at myself and went back down the stairs to the library. As I researched my assignment, I just kept think of my trip up the stairs.

Well as it was, this was a Tuesday and both Mona and I did not have any classes in the afternoon. I headed home to join Mona for are usual Tuesday afternoon rendezvous. When I got home, I found Mona in my bed, nak

I was born in '62, so I obviously missed the sexual revolution and free love since I only discovered masturbation for the very first time behind my grandparent's couch in '69! ;)

The 60s were a great time for many reasons, but the truth is they weren't quite as innocent as TV and some rose colored memories would have you believe. There were the political assassinations, the Vietnam War, race riots and looming over everything the Cold War and possible nuclear annihilation. (We almost destroyed the world back in '63, you know.)

But the art! The music! The greatest music ever was made in the 1960s!
