I wouldn't say that i'm a health nut, but i'm definitely conscious of living a healthy existence. For the most part, this manifests in my life through sustainability. Food has always been something i've greatly enjoyed, and I like a wide variety of it. It's not unusual for me to have in 1 day: oatmeal and fruit, a doughnut, salmon salad and cheese bread, M&M's, fish tacos rice and beans and random chips/brownies/pastries for a late night snack. I also smoke medical marijuana, which gives me an enormous appetite. I eat A LOT! Luckily, I have an amazing metabolism and pretty good genes that keep me slender.

Because I eat so many unhealthy items, I try to do a lot of working out. I grew up doing ballet, yoga, surfing and skateboarding so i've always been pretty active. I still do those things regularly, but I've lately been trying to get into running. I love how my heart feels running, and I like getting sweaty and slippery. It also gives me so many endorphins and I get so horny afterward! I'm up to 6 miles, but would like to get up to 11. I've hit a plateau and it SUCKS!!! I'd love to know what kind of workouts you guys enjoy and for my runners - how do you break through your plateaus?

Don't try just running 6miles every time. I run marathons and run 2-3 miles in my barefoot shoes once a week and 4-5 miles twice a week. Then one day I do my long run which is anywhere from 8-20+ miles depending on what I'm training for or when my next race is.

Because of arthritis in both knees, I no longer run as I did 25 years ago while in the Army. I do masturbate virtually every day, though, but that's really not working out! ;)

Check out a book called 4-hour body by Timothy Ferris. He's a self proclaimed "Body hacker" who used to work for a supplement company. His methods are astounding.

Seems to me that Jump... is on the right track. When I was your age and racing short course triathlons (only club level though) the approx 40km running per week was usually a couple of 5kms straight off the bike (learning not to blow calves up) a medium pace 10km (4 minute kms) and on our long Saturdays (1.5 hr swim squad in the morning, bike club race around lunchtime) we'd do a gentle pace 20km run in the early evening. The longer runs were late afternoon/early evening, but the 5s off the bike were usually before work.
Having a competitive training partner helps the motivation.
