Sir Ted's blog post - The differences among amateur sites

Well, this is my first post on my blog, a feature I have to say I love here at NN. And as my topic, I thought I'd say something about another aspect of NN that I find refresing: the openness of attitudes here. That might seem like an obvious thing, but it's not. The first time I found out about DIY erotica, it was through a rather big, well-known site that I won't mention. I loved the fact that real people were doing their own erotic pics and movies and posting them, but as a male, your only choice was to be a passive viewer, not a participant. Why? Because if any man posted a shot of himself without a woman featured in it, all sorts of incredbily ugly homophobic remarks were left as comments on his pics. It didn't matter how clearly the pic was labled as being of a man and being intended for women viewers--he was called every ugly name under the sun. This, of course, raises the question: why were these homophobic closet cases clicking on these photos to begin with if they were so offended at the site of a penis or bare male backside? At any rate, I assumed all DIY erotic sites were similarly homophobic until I found sites like Newbie Nudes and Amateur Album, which are far more postive, supportive sites than that first site I found. I'll talk more about gender issues and DIY erotica in future posts, but for now, I just wanted to give all NNers a collective pat on the back for being, by and large, such decent, accepting folks.
