Such a pretty design, one can only wonder why so few were built ...

Sorry but nope that's it.... doesn't even look pretty to me. Like s dinky car a child would play with in the hallway...

That's one of my fave's, too!

There were a couple of reasons that so few were built:
1. That one was, essentially, a barely street legal racing car
2. L88 was not an option that was available to the general public. It was only offered to racing organizations

Only 20 were built in 1967, but in '68 there were a few more, and in '69 just over 100. Not many, for the reason that Miles notes, and they sell for a pretty penny these days.
