It was tough last night, while watching the Olympics opening ceremony, to see Muhammad Ali. This was a man I remember as a 5 year old winning gold at the 1960 Rome Games. Then the kicking ass and taking names, total domination of the heavyweight division. Until he took a stand for peace he believed in. As a young teen it was hard to understand how someone who beat the shit out of people for a living would not fight for their country but I always respected his right to his own religion.
So it was very hard to see this man racked by parkinsons and blindness. Shaking as he touched the Olympic flag. To see how frail we all our. How one who was so great becoming almost a sideshow at an opening ceremony.

He is a tough guy, still sharp but I know what you mean.

I agree Pony. I was almost in tears when I saw him last night. Although he's deteriorated quite a bit, Im still very happy to see him especially at the Olympics.

It's hard to look at him like that ain't it. Still very courageous to expose himself like that so everyone can see he definetly doesn't float like a bee anymore. I don't know what keeps him traveling around like he still does. He truly is The Greatest!
