So, I have a nightly ritual. I go by the gas and go each night, and pick up yet another oversized soda. Lather rinse repeat. Tonight was not much different. Go to the fountain, find giant cup, fill, and head for counter. After saying no to cigarettes, I pay and off I go. Going was the problem tonight. As I left the store, I was walking past a little compact and heard "yes please." It didn't really catch my attention, until the laughter. Seated in the compact was two twenty something women(I am guessing). One laughing and one not so much. The not so jovial one asked, "would you talk to me?" Not sure of how to respond, I summoned up "pardon me?" It would appear that while I was distracted working on a new voice greeting. I had an audience. I was doing short recordings of ideas for a new greeting, evidently they overhead parts of them. From there I'm not sure if it was honest desire, or too funny to pass up, but they followed me to the store. So, after a brief talk, with a nervous chuckle and a polite thank you I excused myself from the scene and headed home to laugh at myself for a bit. The moral to the story is if you work on voice greetings at stop lights, you might be followed. |
