even though it was good and enjoyable, I do have some rather sad news to share here, and that is about a month ago I had heard that there was a fire on Johns Mountain but I didnt know where it was exactly until after making camp I had decided to drive up the mountain service road that goes up to the top and also elsewhere around the mountain and so I came upon where the fire had spread over the mountain area that is just above where I camp. and so as I got close to the top and where the road ends I found that the fire had swept through where I had taken photos at this tree that I had come to admire as it was larger than the rest of the surounding trees and stood on the crest of the mountain that slopes downward into a ravine and down towards the Hidden Creek campsite where I camp. I would guess that this tree was about 70 years old and had withstood the harshness of mountain life especially while sitting on a crest. sooo lets say that I was impressed and had greatly admired this tree. and soo with it I took photos and posted them here in my photo collection, and if ya'll should know my photos then I believe that it was during my third camping trip of last summer. so fastforward to now and all I can say is that this tree is nearly dead now due to the heat that is generated by fire. and so I share this sad news that I "personally feel" for this tree and as with all that was destroyed in this fire here on the mountain. I've taken pics and I will be sharing more later but as for now I'll share what has been lost personally by me...and if you should love the outdoors as I do, then you'll understand the significance of why I'm sharing. tfvmb.
