depotguy's blog post - slices of history

This is what remains of the logs cabin the original settlers built in 1879 when they moved to this harsh land.

I am going to try to save these two walls. I think I might cut them down the center and use them as paneling in the new bunkhouse.

I've been packing all day. I got 5 boxes done (thats really something for a guy like me who has to stop and read everything)

Happy weekend!

What always impresses me most with things like that is: the smell of history! Old wood, sometimes old textiles...simply the scent of centuries

The gold is amazing... wood is always welcome, and this is remarkable.
