we all have just as much opportunity to enjoy the world equally as much as anyone else. More news about the "top 1-percent" owns X amount of wealth. In meditation yesterday, the whole notion of how delusional the thought of "this is mine" is was prominent. Yes, I have what are termed possessions, but there is nothing inherent to them that ensures that they stay with me. They can be taken, lost, broken, abandoned, etc... There is nothing to them or me that makes it so that they will magically return to me should those things happen. Yet...so much attention placed upon "holding onto" them instead of enjoying them. The world is so full of things that can not be owned, even by the top 1-percent. Sights, smells, tastes, feel, sounds...the best things that the world are made up of, none of which can be owned, all of which can freely be enjoyed. Is there anything I can do that is more selfish than to be out in that world, ignoring the infinite opportunities for enjoyment simply because something isn't truly "mine?" What shall I do today? Shall I enjoy each single moment as much as possible? Shall I be grateful for my opportunity to enjoy everything as much as anyone else can or be envious of other's abilities to delude themselves better that something is "theirs?" Enjoy! Experience the world! |
