I was just sorting through some stuff of Dave's that I had put away a while back for looking at another day. I found an old answering machine with a little cassette tape (you old enough to remember them?..lol). I was curious to know if it still played. It did! I found it really strange hearing Dave's voice.."..we cannot take your call right now, we're probably shagging..."......he did have a fantastic sense of humour!...lol!!

It was so good to hear his voice. I have loads of photos of him to look at and remember how he looked, but that is the only recording of his voice I have. I will be keeping it safe now!

Oh well, back to sorting stuff again, I'm easily distracted!!...lol! Got to make the most of my last day off work of the holidays! Hope you are all having a good day.

You should get that put on disc or something digital. The tape will eventually not work. ;-)

awesome....as a ex saleman selling blank tapes etc for many years May I suggest you take it and have it put onto a cd for safe keeping as the tape will fail over time where a cd wont, nad happy new year to you

I know just what you mean foxi. I used to have awful night time flashbacks to a bad time in my life - Bob bought a dictaphone(no comments please!)and recorded a message for me to play if my dreams woke me up...it is so wonderful to hear their voice again isn't it?

A friend of mine passed away at home several years ago while his wife was at work. They were so in love with each other.
The only voice she had of him was the telephone answering machine. She kept if for awhile, but now when I call it is a different recording. I hope she saved it.
