I knew it was coming to an end because the wife should arriving home tomorrow. When she led a week ago I had wondered if I'd be lonely but I really felt that way. She had already been away just a few days earlier.

During the week I had work but the weekend ... I wasn't so sure. But I've been quite busy and not having to worry about anyone else has been rather nice.

Last Friday I grilled a steak but it just wasn't any good. That's what happens when you buy a cheap piece of meat. Do over! So I'm trying it again tonight to celebrate the last day alone! (I spent a few extra bucks)

The long ugly losing drought is over! Our St Louis Rams have finally won two games in a row. That's the first in over two years. Add a bright new quarterback who's used to winning and the attitude of the whole team is different. Sort of reminds me of 11 years ago when Kurt Warner was a 3rd string QB who got cut from Green Bay. We picked him up on waivers. The 1st & 2nd string guys got hurt right away... Kurt had to play.. We won the Superbowl that year.

It was a beautiful fall day as I rode my bike through the University and over into the big park. Couples were walking hand in hand. There were several wedding parties being photographed by the water. I came across a cop writing up a car accident. A 4 car accident in a park? Unbelievable but true!

Had yet another decent day. I even got to play in the park!

Got a ton done today. I exchanged two old birthday presents at Banana Republic for something I could wear now. My dinner came out of the freezer but was quick. Then I channel surfed and watched the last 30 minutes of 3 different movies. Why watch the whole movie? I didn't have much choice...

The evening has settled in and if I get my way maybe I'll even get some hot sex in! The truth is I'd have to go solo but what the hell, it's better than nothing!

I woke up this morning & still didn't feel refreshed but I was motivated for a change. Showered, dressed & went out to breakfast at my favorite place. Then headed home and cleaned out the garage. Some of the boxes were big enough that I took them to our company's dumpster.

Right now I've got laundry going and I ran the dishwasher for the 1st time since my wife left town. When you're alone those clean dishes seem to last forever.

Maybe I'll play some guitar later or a friend will call and ask me to do something. So far so good!

Maybe it's my attitude but things are looking up! Yes, let's put today in the good column. My daughter & her husband made an offer on what could possibly be their first house. My wife is still out of town. My son is in Seattle on business. And I'm just worn out in a good way.

Life can be good!

First of all I must say I had a good day at work. After work I went our Yoga class even though my wife is out of town. When I got home.. a quick shower and cooked a nice breakfast for dinner. Life was sweet today. Tomorrow will even be sweeter.

How many times do you here me say that?

So far it's been OK. In fact, I haven't done anything fun at all. The evening is still young and now all my normal household chores are taken care of.

My wife just left for Michigan. Her mother is having major surgery today and she wants to be there to help out. So she is a good person even though she seems to leave town a lot.

Meanwhile I'll just be me and the house until later next weekend. I'm getting used to this situation. However, I'm beginning to plan a trip of my own ... just for me. I'm thinking Texas.

I might have lost in the football pool at work but I don't care! The fucking Rams did win! You tell them chargingram!

Not much going on. Slept until 7:00 a.m. If you call that sleeping in. I'd much rather have another reason to stay in bed but you just can't do what you want anymore. Made pancakes and read the paper. By late morning we were out the door for a quick Target run.

We ended up going to World Market, Target, Home Depot and The Rack. We only made purchased at one store thank god! Now I'm just hanging out waiting another hour for the Rams game to start.

Tomorrow is Monday and my wife leaves again for a week on Tuesday morning. Seems I'm getting used to all this extra quiet time. Meanwhile We're putting the finishing touches on my trip back to Georgia the mean of next month. It looks like I'll be going to Tex the 1st week in November.
