Wednesday, December 14, 2005, 6:03:47 AM- Mexico
So during me writing this, my long overdue bloggy thing, I have been digging through old photos and scanning them into my computadora. Lots of old college stuff. Lots of ridiculous hair. How did I get laid at all? It really was in poor taste. None of all of you my friends. Hmmm where were you then? I did take a lot of pictures of girls. Nothing naughty, just bad photos. digital cameras are are a godsend against the poor photos of yesteryear i think. I would have deleted a bunch of 'em, but here I took advantage of double prints and now I have twice as much crap. Couple this with me returning other long overdue emails to old friends, and I'm spending time wallowing in "the way it used to be..." In the past year i have reconnected with a number of people from my college days. It's a little wierd. Perhaps a sign of the apacalypse. So I am a little nostalgic tonight. It's been a strange time for me lately. I am leaving for Mexico on thursday so I have been preparing and saving $$ for that. this is a new one for a few reasons for me: 1)Never been out of the country 2)Never been on a 3 week vacation 3)Never been anywhere where english is not spoken (see ..1) So i am irrationally nervous. Fear of the unknown and responsibility thrust upon me regardless of my wishes. The responsibility of being an adult for once in another country. Perhaps that makes no sense. Ah well.. I'll try to get some choice photos and put them up here.

Thursday, November 17, 2005, 6:30:09 AM- Photographers i like
I got interested in nude photography from porn. Nothing new there. But I did outgrow the standard kind of stuff that is churned out as product all the time. Many people, myself included, probably started with Playboy and then maybe explored from there. what I find a little sad is those who never progressed beyond that Playboy aesthetic. That "ideal" of what is beautiful. anymore, for me, looking at Playboy is about as arousing as looking at furniture. It is so far removed from reality that it just does nothing for me anymore. I like to see that there is real people involved. Real flesh. So I have put together some sites that have some stuff from photogs that i like. If you are so inclined, check them out. If you are moved beyond that, drop me a line and tell me about it. http://www.art-forum.org/Top_Level/Frame_IE.htm check out gallery 26 Bettina Rheims http://www.bobcoulter.com/nice/index.html http://crazybabe.com/ both from Bob Coulter. Lots of girls smoking, which I seem to be drawn to even though I'm not a smoker myself. Probably from early sex experiences with smokers http://www.midbrowart.com/layer1/homepage.htm this guy terry is fun. check out in the nude gallery his model vs. photographer. It's a hoot And 3 I discovered away from the internet, but they have some stuff to see online. http://www.richardkern.com/ I love richard kern. Very honest, realistic shots. He does a lot of mainstream stuff too. You probably have seen something from him, although you may not know it. http://www.fetish-usa.com/welcome/index.shtml Eric Kroll is another great one like Kern http://www.roy-stuart.com/ roy stuart's stuff sometimes seems like it is hard wired into my libido. HOTTTT! Gregry

Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 3:01:23 AM- Dammit
I really liked putting up my faves in the "check them out" thread. But now I've gotten a little gunshy though because the ones I pick seem to: 1) Be fakes (dammit I thought I was being smarter than that) 2) Never post anything new. 3) Take down their pics altogether (sniff) And jeezus guys. Take a look before you post a shot of your cock. How many thousands of the same self-portrait-of-a-cock shots do we need? I say this not because I'm against cock shots but for this reason: booo-ring! Then some of the guys whine when they don't get any attention. Try a little um...harder. Don't get me wrong, as I write this I know that my collection is littered with shots like that. But hell. I've stopped posting if I feel like it's just gonna be more of the same 'ol stuff. So take this as more of a pep talk. We can do better guys! C'mon!

Friday, August 19, 2005, 3:40:41 AM- My musical Life
People ask from time to time when they hear that I've played music for a long time. I have had my fair share of wacky shenanigans in the music biz, but I've also had a lot more mind-numbingly dull times as well. They don't tell you how to get through 2 nights in Detroit Lakes when everyone is at WEFest and You are sick and falling asleep on the bandstand. That i had to figure out for myself. I had fairly typical progression in music for a rocker kid. I had bands in high school for while but then i started playing in bars with guys that were older than me. The talent pool in my hometown was pretty slim, so i had some good opportunities considering I didn't know much of what i was doing. I started making money and that got me good experience as well as keeping me out of a lot of trouble. How much can a geeky pimple faced teenager get away with when he's in a bar? I then went to school for music and there i again started working in bars with older guys making some money. I started teaching lessons as well. After I finished school I moved to the big city and played in a few bands around there trying to get anyone's attention. That is a difficult, frustrating, huge load o'work. I got tired of playing tuesday nights and splitting $22 between 5 guys so i am a little more selective about what i do now. I've done some music for theater and that is nice because I get to do a lot of things, bass, guitar, keyboards percussion...whatever is called for. I've played for the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival (yes there is such a thing) a few times. I laugh sometimes when i think about experiences that you have that people say you can "put on your resume." I laugh because the Nebraska gig kinda looks prestigious as an entry on a resume form, but I can't imagine ever getting any work as a musician by using a resume. Someday I expect a mysterious person dressed in black to show up and inform me that i cannot tell people I am a musician because of my embarrassing lack of getting out to see any bands of hear any music. I really gotta get out more. One music thing that has kept me in touch with the world is that i have been learning african drumming for a couple of years now. The drum group is pretty different than other music stuff I've been involved in. We meet most every tuesday in the teacher's studio. I guess we are an underground music scene of sorts (the first rule of drum club is...) The class is taught all at the same time, with beginners thrown right in with those who have been working on it for years. there are no hierarchies like there are in bands and orchestra. Be careful, we are always recruiting people as well. The music itself can be really difficult. You learn by listening and mimicking. There is no counting in the way that western music is counted, but instead, it is organized through the relationships of the parts. The music can really change character depending on where you focus. It is a very communal and supportive atmosphere, because we have all been the new one in the room. It is great, friendly environment and as a result we all become good friends as well. So it is a bit therapeutic as well. Now, I know this sounds a little like a hippie drum jam it is much more organized than that. And i tend to bristle at any hippy stuff, and i feel fine here. there are some folks who like that kind of stuff, but I'm there more for soaking in the language of the music. I want to live one complete day of my life as a musical. "Gotta wash.....gonna shower and shave- go to work...........feeling dashing and brave" It's a start.

Monday, August 8, 2005, 5:12:13 AM- Pondering porn
This was my mini-essay to a lady who was asking me about porn. I think the subject was brought up because I used to work in a store selling mags and vids. What do I think is quality porn? There are elements that make porn better for my tastes. The performers have to be into what they are doing. It's easy to spot those who grit their teeth and just get through it for the paycheck. Boring. Find another job people. Camera work should be low on gynecological shots: Cameras way too close to the action. Apparently men who watch porn are supposed to like this. I don't. I really don't need to see a bouncing scrotum that close. I like performers who don't look like typical porn people. Outside of porn I am attracted to women who look unique. I like flaws, they add character. American beauty ideals are not very interesting to me. I'll take real over thin, blonde and plastic every time. I like when women are treated well. Abusive, name calling and crap like that seems to me to be more of a revenge thing for fat boys and frat boys who have women issues. Almost all of it is staged for the camera, but I could do without it. There are generally 2 styles of porn. Regular porn and what is called gonzo. Regular porn is what most people think of: flimsy storylines, people playing characters and an attempt at a "movie" with hardcore sex in it. In gonzo, people don't play characters and they aren't trying to tell a story, they are just themselves having sex in front of a camera. Gonzo tends to use more single camera work with less editing, more like a real voyeur experience, real time with one POV. Regular porn is cut and edited for effect. Made to look more pretty for the most part. MOst of the directors I like work in the gonzo genre. Oh, I forgot to mention, when looking for porn, the video company and the director are a far better indicator of quality than performers or especially what's on the box cover. Never trust a box cover that gives you slick pictures but no information. They are hiding a piece of crap. If you are a cable junky maybe you have seen a show called "family business"? It's a reality show following a porn director named Seymour Butts. (clever huh?). I like his stuff. It's upbeat and energetic and he shoots in a kind of day-in-the-life style. If a person was asking for a recommendation, I'd go with that.

Wednesday, August 3, 2005, 3:43:10 AM- A little about me
In getting to know someone online, I answered a short list of questions. The answers give a little insight into who i am for any who may be interested in such stuff. 1. your dream job. Well, i think i would like to make music for a living. But rather than being in one band or something like that I would rather be a freelancer, like a film actor does. where you go from project to project. Music shouldn't be like a marriage. Maybe like an orgy instead. Or maybe BE and orgy instead of "like" one. 2. abortion. Should be a guilt free option for people. Especially when they seriously ask questions like "What kind of life will this child have if it is born in my current conditions? 3. your childhood. I'll hold on this one. Nothing to hide, just nothing comes to mind right now. 4. menstruation. It used to make me nervous, the thought of blood and a vagina together. But then i saw it firsthand and all of that went away. I think women have a raw deal with all the pain and bother of it all. Is it bad for you? I know it is for many women. But i should mention that I've had some hot times during menstruation. (theirs, not my own. I take a break during mine) so it doesn't freak me out or anything. 5. condoms. a necessity. Sex for me can easily be ruined by the anxiety that comes when I don't use one. And I find it odd when I have experienced resistance from female partners when I wanted to use them. How much of a physical difference is it for women? I won those disputes, by the way. 6. war. The continued existence of war, to me, is evidence that we are no longer evolving as a species. We should know better. Wal-mart is evidence that we are in fact DEvolving 7. broccolli. I like it. I think it gets a bum rap. Although I am against forcing food on anyone. 8. welch's strawberry soda. I like Strawberry soda in general, but i have no allegiance to welch's or any other. It's not a real common beverage is it? And a casual anthropological observation: you never see strawberry on tap in restaurants with a mostly white clientele. 9. weens (in general.....or specifically) this one has so many aspects. Dicks really shape a lot of the things in this world and mostly to the negative. Whether chasing down something to stick it in or fighting slander against it, lots of stupid decisions have been made. (that could be one of the largest understatements ever). I try to laugh at my own dick driven behavior to remind myself that you can't outrun your genetic nature. I think it's funny to how they can run the whole spectrum from embarrasingly small to those guy who, well all another guy can do is applaud and say "congratulations, you asshole" 10. fingernails. I keep mine trimmed for playing guitar. I am indifferent to them on women, as i like the whole hand. I do like painted toes, though. 11. ice skating. Never done it. Not particularly interested. Should I be? 12. mouthwash before morning sex...yes or no? Never done it. Not parti....wait, sorry. i have to admit that mouthwash or a good brushing is necessary for me if there is any morning mouth action. My mouth gets too mucky overnight, even for me. 13. camping. I have fun when i do it, but I don't crave it when i don't go. 14. chess. Learned to play it a long time ago, but never did much. If I did start though, I probably would get far too involved in it though, as I am terribly attracted to mental puzzles like chess.

Monday, August 1, 2005, 3:19:46 AM- Alright!
Well, it looks like I am about to get booted off the "Least viewed blogs list." Every now and then I wind up on somebody's list. Now I"ll be able to see what it's like to get OFF someones list. I'm still a little unsure whay that list is on the blogs page. One way to take it is "least popular blogs" which could be a bit of a downer for people. Maybe it'll make em try a little harder. And speaking of lists, I made somebody's favorite list on their profile. I won't out them here, but here's a shout out to them. Thanks. A always ask people I correspond with here what they like to see in photos. I have gotten some great responses, and that's what I also posted the CHECK EM OUT thread, which I am thrilled that people are using. I really do think of what we all do here as art. We make it and put it out there for an audience. Some serious, some whimsical and all the spectrum in between. I guess while stimulating my hard on, NN also makes me want to be a better photographer and a more interesting subject. I love that combination and I like that people here embrace both sides as well. So I ask what people like as a sort of dialogue to keep it moving forward. Maybe stir some ideas for myself or someone else. Or stir other things, aw hell, I'm off to perv. Maybe trixsyn has posted something. Rowr rowr! Gregry. Shit it's hot in my apt. And ya can't stip down any more than naked can ya?
