5 hours and calls to 18 coin shops, 62 pawn shops and 23 jewelry shops are done. ugh! I've gotten the word out as best I can leaving contact info and the serial number of the bar.
The Postal Inspector General is being very cooperative, as is the local Postmaster and the buyer. If reports are accurate, the source of the problem has been isolated and the guilty party should soon be identified. *fingers crossed*
Edit: From what we're being told the sorting facility is under observation. The destination post office received another parcel in the same condition going to the same buyer from another seller. The destination post office set the wheels in motion of their own volition. |
