Well, THAT didn't go as planned! Didn't know that darkening yellow with black would give me a sickly greenish hue when put on the canvas. oops. Just finished adjusting all the shadows to cancel out the green. *grumble grumble* Now I gotta wait for it to dry before adding the lighter areas. *grumble grumble* Then wait for that to dry before adding highlights. *grumble grumble* It's coming along; I'm just impatient.
Thank you for your suggestions. I settled on a kinda muted burgundy-ish color for the background. In my heart I wanted to go with a deep royal purple, but I looked at a bunch of samples of pics online and it just wasn't gonna work. boohiss
