| Tuesday, June 2, 2020, 6:46:24 PM- Some people use their heads... | ||
... as well as their hearts. These past few days have seen terrible rioting and looting. We all know the reason for the START of all of this. As usual though, some people have their own agenda and use what should have been peaceful as an excuse to further feelings of hatred. In my little town, still known as 'Middletown USA', we had demonstrations last weekend. Though not large (a little over 100 people were there) it was peaceful. No rioting or property damage occurred. I sure didn't see anything on the state or national level about that. Maybe, just maybe, we 'average people' have the common sense the rest of the world needs right now. ~

Whenever I post something about the Coronavirus on Facebook, I keep hearing from an old classmate who claims that only 1% of the population will probably die. Let's break that down: World population is almost 7.7 billion people. 1% of that number is 77 million. In my state here in the U.S., we have almost 7.7 million. 1% of that number is 77,000. Still think 1% is not a lot? ~

10 o'clock at night. Wet and weary, I shuffled out of the elevator and walked down the the dimly hit hall to my office. I'd been out in my car for hours, parked along a residential street taking photos of a dame cheating on her out of town husband. Some middle aged broad who was bouncing the mattress with the tennis pro from her country club. I shot a couple of rolls of film of the two of them in action. She wasn't a bad looker for 40 something, while the clay court stud was a rock solid young man of maybe 30. Their coital routine was the usual: She blew him, he licked her, they tried a few positions. Nothing I hadn't seen before, but I wasn't there to get my kicks. Just shoot the pictures, gather the evidence for my client. I left them sleeping in peace. I opened the lower drawer of my desk and pulled out a bottle of cheap whiskey. I took a cup from the coffee tray my secretary Kathy had left for me and poured myself a strong knock. I threw it back in one shot, feeling the burn all the way down to my gut. I started to pour another one, when there came a light taping at my office door. I put down the cup, leaned back in my chair and reached inside my coat to flick off the safety on my roscoe in it's holster and told whoever was there to come in. The door opened slowly and in walked a Goddess. She was tall and beautiful, with long blonde hair, gorgeous athletic gams and a pair of 38's screaming to be released from her low cut dress. I pointed at the one chair in front of my desk for her to sit in and asked her how I could be of service to her. No pun intended - this doll dripped diamonds and exuded class. The lady drifted across the space to the chair, lithe as a cat, then stood beside the chair for a moment, lightly biting the corner of her luscious lower lip before finally sitting and facing me, her head tilted to one side as though she was measuring me before speaking. I started to ask her again if I could help, but she held up her hand to stop me, lightly shook those golden tresses then began to speak in a soft, melodic voice. "I have heard from a friend that you are a person who is discreet, who can help someone like you did my friend and not talk to the press or anyone else. I desperately need your help." I told her I was a professional and that she could count on me to keep my trap shut. She laughed a little at me, more of a release of tension than at my poor choice of words. Her blue eyes widened. She stared into my own dull brown orbs and asked me: "Can you keep me from coming back from the future and killing myself?" * To be continued* ~

I saw this today on t.v. and loved it. Combines baseball, football and soccer. All athletes are amateur, with money earned going to the towns of the teams. I'd love to watch a match sometime and were I a younger man, try to play. ~

Another senseless, racially motivated killing of an African American citizen by the police. There needs to be some kind of screening or test to weed out these bigots from our police. ![]()

Two things that bug me about the usage of the English language in America: 1. Like - "It was like really hot outside." Was it actually hot outside, or did it seem as though it was hot? Please be specific! 2. ? Ending every sentence as though it's a question. "That bill was due on Monday?" Was it due, or don't you know??? I can remember people speaking this way in the late 1960's, but they were usually xxxxxxxxxx. Example: "It was like far out man, you know?" And don't get me started on the usage of ending every sentence with 'you know?' ~

I keep hearing about people going stir crazy during these lock downs. I can see it if you're cooped up with children, maybe even if it's just you and your spouse (or significant other). People like me, who have always liked isolation, can shine in these times. We're the loners and you'll recognize us by our smiles and cheerful moods. ![]()
