Lots of jokes etc are made about "dumb" Americans and their educational system. I deal with a lot of Americans at work and none of them are dumb but sometimes you come across a situation that lives up to the stereotype.
About 10 days ago my dryer went on the fritz - no heat at all. It's only 7 years old and a supposed name brand - GE. Naturally, find out the hard way with a lot of soggy ass clothes in it. I tore it apart and did some troubledshooting and tracked down the problem to a thermal fuse which is a pretty common issue. Anyways, like everything these days, the dryer is considered obsolete and lots of parts are "discontinued". I checked the local places and found out that they consider the part to be special order, 3-4 weeks for delivery which isn't gonna work. Plan B- checked Amazon and ta-daa, found one. Ordered and paid a bit extra for express delivery, should be here in 2-3 days. Yahoo!! I think all is good especially when I got a shipping notice saying delivery by end of day on Monday. Monday, no part so shit buess it's gonna be Tuesday. Come Wednesday still no part so I checked the tracking siite.
Here comes the fucking dumbass Yankee bit- part originates in Las Vegas and heads to Los Angeles for further shipment to me here in Canada. In LS the part gets handled by some fucking idiot that doesn't have a map or for that matter even looked at one. Part got shipped to Dubai which is NOT fucking north of LA where I am but on the other fucking side of the world. Sat there for a day and has now found it's way to Leipzeig Germany- fuck knows when it will get to me. I can't even cancel the order and get a refund until 4 Dec according to Amazon.
I could have fucking driven to Vegas to pick it up faster.
