kittenmmm's blog post - And the holidays go on.

Well, the Saturday Christmas celebration was a great success. Everyone left happy and stuffed. We missed a couple of my sisters due to winter flus and the such but their gifts were sent back to their respective homes and the rest of said a prayer of thanks that they didn't feel the need to share their illnesses with us. We missed Wolf's family but we talked to them several times over the phone and they were in our thoughts all the time.

The major highlights of the gift giving appeared to be food items. My son freaked over the fact that I gave him his own box full of honey buns, nutty bars, easy mac and cup of soup. Wolf, likewise, danced all over when he found a can of Spam in his stocking, not to mention cream style corn. Blech.

As for me, I seem to have gotten a year's supply of candles from everyone, a brand new totally amazing bible from my mother-in-law and an absolutely dazzling anklet from my wolf. It's so dainty I'm almost afraid to wear it. I'm not exactly what you would call dainty ... I'm actually kind of tough on jewelry. I have some rings that look like they were mashed through a grinder. I'll have to save this piece for special occasions.

We're not quite over our galas though. We have another one coming up this Saturday at my cousin's house. It'll be crowded, noisy and a boatload of fun. There will be more food than everyone can possibly stuff into themselves and lots of good cheer and plenty of dirty banter (my family has a tendency to talk a bit to the left if you know what I mean - nner's would fit right in, might even be shocked at times). Wolf will be occupied by the older ladies who are enamoured of his accent and think he's just the most darlin' thing.

And the really cool thing is that it hasn't snowed yet...ha-ha Body smile

enjoying the holidays
