kittenmmm's blog post - Chainsaws

We're in the market for a new chainsaw. Our old one is just not up the task of supplying us with wood for the winter and needs repair. Apparently, it has come down with a common ailment for its brand (doesn't oil the chain anymore)and the repair would be costly and basically a band-aid. So that leaves us with looking at models more suited to our level of usage.

Wolf seems to have set his sights on the Husqvarna Rancher 455. It's more than I paid for our current model but better suited to our needs and a better deal in the long run.

We received a $100 gift certificate for Lowe's from my cousins and we originally thought that if they carried it we would make out better but we were wrong. We found this web site that carries them and has a deal going on with two free chains and free shipping. Even after the gift certificate, we would only be saving $58. That doesn't count the cost of the extra chains, gas and aggravation (and the free t-shirt and hat).

We've decided to save the Lowe's certificate for the washer to fix the drip on the sink. We figure by the time Wolf finishes putting in a new washer to repair the sink we'll have used the whole $100. I see all new fixtures in our future...just a feeling mind you. He's never claimed to be a plumber he says...
