lennynatural's blog post - High Cost

I just got a bid for some much needed brick work I need for the garage. It came in fully 50% more than I estimated it would be. Well, I'm getting better at this, bids used to come in at double what my estimate was.

Now I'm contemplating, get more bids or go with this one. I know this company will do a good job, I used them before. There is always the possibility that a low bid ends up being the expensive one if the work has to be corrected or re-done.

I would get another bid or two if I could. And especially try to get feedback on the companies, maybe ask them to show you work they have done in the neighborhood or talk to someone you know who has used their services.

Cheapest isn't always the best. I bought a cheap mountain bike and the fucking thing kept breaking because of the cheap componentry. What a waste of

A completely waste of money was my "cheap" bike.

My rule is usually to get three and go for the one in the middle

Check online reviews of a few companies and give them a call.
