Benjie wants me to send some home cooked food. I don't know how to do that in a way that will keep it fresh and warm so I am sending some cyber food. The tomato sauce is from my homegrown tomatoes and the bread is home made. The pasta is from a box and the beer is from a bottle. I have plenty, so if you would like some, come on over! ![]()

| Sunday, December 3, 2006, 6:30:02 PM- Food delivery | ||||||
I am in the kitchen, hungry and having a beer. I just got the place cleaned up from lunch but now it's dinner time. The door bell rings and there is a woman handing me a sack filled with fresh warm food and the aroma is overwhelming. Ahhh, the magic of food delivery. Just pick up the phone and let someone else do the cooking and bring it to you. Except sometimes it is not so perfect. Sometimes they get the order wrong, or the food is not prepared the way it should be, or the delivery is late. Anybody who has ordered out has experienced that. Well, yesterday was one of those times, but with a twist. I like food, and as such, I often have a hard time deciding what to order. As a result, if a combination plate is offered, I often end up getting that. Well, yesterday was one of those times. I had a taste for Czech food. It's not your standard fast food fare or the usual pasta/pizza/chicken that the Italian delivery restuarant offers. It's a full meal; soup, meat, potato, vegitable and dessert. All at a very reasonable price. The restuarant doesn't delivery but there is a food delivery service that will go there and deliver it for you (the delivery service has an arrangement with more then a dozen restuarants). That is what I did yesterday, I called the delivery service and placed my order, roast pork and breaded tenderloin combination. I will have a nice dinner and lunch the next day from it. About a half hour later the delivery service called and wanted directions to my house (I have been ordering from this service for 10 years and this is the first time the driver got lost). I gave directions and had a couple of sips of beer while I waited. Now I was pretty damn hungry. About 15 minutes later the doorbell rings and there is an angel handing me a big sack filled with food (anybody who brings me food is an angel). She is yapping away like there is no tomorrow. I make polite conversation with her but I want her to go because I want to eat! She leaves. The sack feels kinda heavy, like there is more in there than there should be. Maybe they gave me a bigger portion today. If the delivery woman hadn't distracted me with her yapping I would have checked the bag before she left. Anyway, I bring the bag to the kitchen and start to remove the containers. Sure enough, the order is wrong, there is more in there than what I ordered. There are two soups and two desserts. I open up the first container and it is a roast pork dinner. I open up the second container and it is a breaded tenderloin dinner. I wonder, did the restuarant make a mistake and give the delivery service the wrong bag, or did she have 2 orders from this restuarant and she gave me the wrong bag? Since I was hungry I wasn't going to call and then wait for them to fix it. I dove in and enjoyed it. Now I have enough left for todays lunch and dinner. Ahh, I like it when the mistake favors me! For those who rarely get to see snow, I am giving one more pic. ![]()

Just a couple more pics from yesterday's storm, I thought you might like a birds eye view. Although I only got about 4 inches, some areas got as much as 13. Earlier in the week it was warm and we had heavy rains, which flooded the back of my yard. As a result, I now have an ice skating rink back there. Anybody want to put on their skates and come over? ![]() ![]()

| Friday, December 1, 2006, 7:08:38 PM- December 1, 2006 | ||||||
After a week a warm weather, then heavy rains, the snow came today. This was the first real snowstorm of the year. They were forcasting 6 to 12 inches but we only got about 4. It is a very wet and heavy snow, if it had been the fluffy stuff it probably would have been about 10 inches or so. I cleared my driveway, my elderly neighbor's driveway and the sidewalks on both sides of me. That's enough excersize for one day. Now it's lunch time, then I will soak in a hot tub and spend the rest of the day on the puter and in front of the tv. ![]() ![]()

| Friday, November 17, 2006, 11:26:10 PM- Are people nuts? | ||||||
The Sony Playstation 3 has hit the market and fights are breaking out between people waiting in line to buy them. People leaving the stores have been robbed at gunpoint and at least one person has been shot over it. I was just on ebay and saw one that just sold for $2900 (USD). I think the list price is only $500 or $600. I remember the Beanie Baby craze, some ppl paid incredible prices, hundreds of dollars, for an item that retails for $6. Now you can't give those things away.

| Saturday, November 11, 2006, 6:12:28 PM- Veteran's Day | ||||||
I am wishing a happy Veterans Day to everybody who served. The people who serve in the military makes great personal sacrafices. We can all honor the veterans regardless of our personal feelings for the politics that sometimes put them in harms way. The pic shown below is my dad, I don't know where it was taken but I think it could have been in France. My dad was in the Army medical corps. He told me the medical personal were often under fire from snipers. I don't know too much more, he rarely talked about it, except he served in most of Europe and northern Africa. I salute my dad, as well as everyone else who served. ![]()

| Monday, November 6, 2006, 4:48:18 AM- A good Sunday | ||||||
The weather was fairly nice today. The guy from the cable company finally showed up buried the cable (yup, on a Sunday). Then my brother came over with a couple of thick slabs of cow that I wrapped with bacon and then threw on the bbq. Cooked it perfectly; charred on the outside and just a little more than pink on the inside. It was yummy. Washed it down with some fine beer. All in all, it was a good way to spend a Sunday.

| Thursday, November 2, 2006, 8:18:49 PM- Snow flurries | ||||||
It's not winter yet and we have snow flurries already. Last winter was pretty dry but this summer and fall were pretty wet. And now it's colder than normal for this time of year. I think this winter will be cold and lots of snow. The pic is from 2 years ago. ![]()

| Tuesday, October 31, 2006, 8:08:29 PM- Happy Halloween! | ||||||
The cable company played a trick on me. Their records show the workman was at my house yesterday and buried the cable. My records show the cable is still sitting on the ground. I am ready for halloween; my pumpkins are set out on the front steps, windows are decorated, candy is at the ready, I have my pumpkin shirt on and there are a couple of pumpkin ales in the fridge. ![]() ![]()
