micky07's blog post - There are times in you're life when you are so proud to be a dad

& this is one of them. Our son who is only 11 is taking his GCSE (not sure what the equivalent in USA is),in ICT -Information Technology but in the UK you would normally take it when you're 16,after 5yrs of upper school. He started his coursework 2 months ago (1 week before his 11th birthday),he was officially told this week that he'll be taking his mocks on Dec 11 & if he does well in that he'll take his 'proper' exam in May.
Charlie is out tonight so I've been doing revision with him, when I tucked him in bed he said to me 'thanks for all the help you're giving me,you're my very own Superdad'.
Couldn't you just hug your kids forever sometimes

GCSE doesn't exist in the US, as we don't have blanket comprehensive exams that we have to take to graduate (some states do have graduated tests throughout secondary school, but not a single level of tests.)

But knowing what I know of GCSE's... taking them at 11 is quite a feat, in IT no less!! You really should be proud of him. You and Charlie have done well. :)) Congrats, and good luck to him!! Hope he gets a first!!
