milonowraguy's blog post - My father

Hi guys, sorry for deleting all my blogs but just felt it needed cleaning out..
for those that remember in september my father (then 89) and I found out he had lung cancer WITH 3 Weeks to 3 months max of time left. Well my father made it to his 90th birth day which he wanted to do and then on christmas day, am , he passed away in the nursing home he was in. On friday the 3rd of January we had his funeral and because he was a ww2 navy vet we had our local RSL guys there with the last post and all things to do with the navy.. SO for the last 7 years since my mother past on I had been looking after my dad, with the help of my sister and her family.
But the last 3 months had been the hardest of all , so difficult to see him like that..
but now he is in no more pain.. and hope with our mother who he missed so much..

its strange now ..not calling him every morning at his place
to see if he is ok or what he's upto for the day.
no more trips to the hospital or the nursing home.


now its just me and my sister and my brother , who i dont see very often he has his own family and such..

new life...
scary....
