As some may have noticed, I have a somewhat odd sense of humor. There are many reasons. I basically grew up on British humor. Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, The Two Ronnies, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served?, among others. I am lucky to have had one of the best public television channels in the States that carried these classic British shows. One other reason is being short. I have heard some of the funniest short jokes, usually being the one they are directed at. I think one of my strengths is being able to see the humor in things, even when they are directed at me. I really enjoy heading someone off with a self deprecating remark. A couple of my favorites I have heard over the years:
What's it like having to do the discus throw to put your quarter in the coffee machine? (remember 25c coffee?)
What's it like walking through the maternity ward and having the nurses ask you 'what are you doing out of your crib?'
The last one is my favorite, and I have heard MANY jokes throughout my life. My sense of humor and openness have gotten me through some rough times. I can take any joke directed at me as long as it is truly said with no malice. And trust me, I can give as good as I get...
