sammiealice's blog post - omg, why does this happen

my daugher just came down stairs--her boyfriend was asleep upstair. she told us that she had picked up from the airport and he told her that he had gotten drunk (he is an alcholic) while out of town on a business trip met a girl in the bar, she took him back to her room and they fucked. She is being very strong (she knew he was an alcholic) but i know that this is really hurting her. and i am not sure if it was the fucking or the drinking (she has really been working hard to keep him sober) that hurt her more. they have been going together for two plus years now and she has so much invested in him and i do not know what this cheating is going to do to the relationship.

parenting is just never over. sad

oh honey thats awful...it never stops parenting...if its hurting her it cant be a healthy relationship. also she needs to get herself checked for stds even if he says they used protection ..he as drunk and likliness is it may of been unprotected sex. she cant make him get off alcohol..only he can choose that if he wants too

End it NOW ! It may save his life and surely will benefit hers ! No need for a "low-lifer" like that to hang around ! Better to lose 2 years of "investment " than a lifetime of tears .

My heart breaks for her - and for you because I can only imagine the worry you're going thru.

Regardless of the "investment," she'd be better off cutting her losses now.

I "Demand" 3 things from my relationship. Honesty, Faithful, and ambition. If a man can't keep a job or losses it from the lack of sobriety he is not going to be a good life partner. As far as a 2 year investment? Being in a relationship like that is like paying 2 years for a broke down car you bought. It's not an investment....it's a bad decision. I agree with the ones above, she needs to cut him loose.
