sammiealice's blog post - just a non-sexual fire warning

as i have said before, i am the fix it person in my family. i don't know why i got the job, maybe because my dad taught me to fix stuff as a girl so i would not be dependent, maybe it is my education (engineer) but if it is broken, i get to repair it. so, the dryer broke, and i firgured out what the problem was, go the parts and openned it up to replace the part (which naturally is who i then spent my weekend). anyway, when i openned the front, the floor of the dryer looked like it has two inch of snow---all light fluffy lint---could not believe it. i clean the lint catcher regularly, just clean part of the duct. anyway, i proceeded to vacumn everything i could reach, replaced part of the duct with new duct. then, since i had the dryer out, i washed the floor, replaced the hoses on the washer, and on and on (which is why it took the weekend---everything i fixed it was off to the store to get whatever i then needed to replace).

anyway, as i looked at the dryer and its lint, i thought of how luck we were not to have a fire---one little spark would have set it off. so all my girl friends, if your man will not do it for you, google removal of the front of your dryer (you will most likely need a putty knife and hubby's/lover's shoe) and clean it out yourself and help prevent a fire.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to all.
