The storms have arrived and I am loving it.
When I was a little girl, we played in the rain. All of the kids on our block did. It was free and fun. I would imagine that is where my love for the rain began. To this day, I still enjoy being out in it. I am off to start my work and then go for a walk along the rain soaked sand and watch the stormy ocean.

This reminds me of when I was little and used to slap my sisters and run away...lol. Then they would get into trouble for picking on me.

Even though the lateral move doesn't officially start until Monday, my new command asked if I could assist as soon as possible and of course I was excited to begin. This weekend I will be following up on some individuals who wanted to / or tried to commit suicide. This area is nothing new to me. But it is the first time in which it will be me, one on one with the individual. Before, I had partners and various others around on a call. Not so much in this agency. You are on your own because they know they have trained you well. I am so excited to be involved in such an emotional and worthwhile prevention program.

I am having lunch today with the head of the section I am leaving and the head of the section I am joining. I will be the only woman in the new section. Am I nervous? No! I have worked with thousands of men over my career and fit right into their world. I mean, after all....one of the reasons I got the job was because I dropped the F Bomb. I don't normally cuss but the word fit well into the story I told them. It seems cussing runs rampant with them and I do not have a problem with men cussing around me. The officers that I am with now are just as fantastic as the ones I will be joining. It will be a sad goodbye but a wonderful hello. The path that I am on is headed in the right direction.

We cannot deny the future by holding back because we are afraid to change. There are challenges out there and I want to find them.

I received a text from a number that is not in my address book.
The text was "Why is your number in my phone?
So I text back "Who is this?" I mean that is normal of me. The number was new to me, I had never dialed it.

A few seconds later my cell phone rings and it is the number of the unknown text. Of course I didn't answer it and let it go to voice mail. After they left a message, I immediately listened to it. IT WAS MY SISTER, V.! Her message was: "Hello, You wanted to know who was texing you? This is ____ ____. If you know me or want to call ____ _____ back, please do at ### ### ####.

WTH?

There are three things completely wrong with this:
1. I have had this number since 2000 and she has called it numerous times.
2. When V. called, she didn't recognize my voice?
3. She changed her number, entered my info and forgot about it. That seems the logical answer.

The point is, she didn't recognize my voice? Really? My very own sister? And my sisters make fun of me for being a blonde? I would certainly know my own sisters fucking voice....lol.

Well, not a new one really. I have had the same Pentax Camera since 2004. It's a great camera with a flip around viewing feature and easy to use. A few months ago, it started eating batteries like they were thin mints. The batteries lasted only 20 minutes. My camera was is dying...
But, I found the very same one online! Dirt cheap!

I had been looking around for cameras and wasn't thrilled with any of them. I was dreading having to learn how to work a new one......lol. So I am a happy camper to have found this one. I am not much of a tekkie and basically still don't know how to que the time up on my dvd player...*tee hee.

It's almost 1:00 am. I am up and hungry. The bummer part is....I am out of Bacon!!
