Monday, May 19, 2014, 1:39:27 AM- lol.....coincidence or karma?
The four of us were sitting around planning the birthday celebrations. My sons are so busy that we can't celebrate on their actual birthdays. As we were chatting, I wanted particular days and they didn't. So, I said "You do know what happens when I don't get my way?" They said "What" My reply "You know" It was met with laughter. Here is what happened a within a time span of 20 minutes. **#1 son got a paper cut on his lip from an envelope. **#2 son stubbed his little toe on the living room chair. **Their Dad burned his lip on pizza cheese. Coincidence? Who knows. But I did get my way. See ya! We are off to see the new Godzilla movie. xoxo

Friday, May 16, 2014, 6:20:37 AM- Busy busy busy
For the last 2 weeks I have been doing hit and runs here on NN. A few minutes to see what I can see. No time to read the blog section in its entirety. I do pop in and out of status, but have only been staying for a few minutes. I don't even have time to check messages. Hopefully I can catch up after Saturday. Work has taken over a bit. Besides work, there are interviews for potential movement. I had to turn down another offer because they low balled me on the salary. Even if it's a career choice that I would love doing, my pay means a great deal to me. I have worked very hard with my education and longevity to get paid less. I am passing all of the background tests, the psychological tests and the boards. So no worries there. It's onward and upward. Like I said before back in January, it was going to take about a year to reach another chapter in my profession. Besides the work thing, my free time has been spent doing some painting and sketching. I plan on giving a few of them to my sons as birthday gifts. I have also been messing about with my newest photography project. On Saturday I am off to Orange County for my sons birthdays. I won't call it a vacation...lol. I call it a being a mom away from work break. I keep telling myself that one of these days there will be a real vacation in my future....hahaha. One in which all I do is walk along the beach or in the mountains, find some antique shops, visit a swap meet, swim in a pool all week, drink margaritas all day, hold hands with someone during dinner, go dancing, be naked everyday in the hotel room, go to a spa for a massage or two and get a facial. I hope that everyone is well. I sure do miss giggling with all of you. Soooooooooooo, tell me? What have you been up to? Tell me what is going on.

This is well worth your time viewing. I have seen it over and over again. The video says it all! No need for a 'Beware of Dog' sign. Put up 'Protective Pussy on Premises' The back story on this cat is about 6 years ago the homeless cat followed the family home and never left. The cat chose them and it has been nothing but love love love since then. The love the cat had for this little boy is amazing.

Two boys seriously injured when bounce house is blown into the air by wind. Glen Falls Post; Glen Lehman SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Two young boys were seriously hurt late Monday afternoon when a gust of wind blew an inflatable “bounce house” into the air with three children inside, tossing two of them to the asphalt from at least 15 feet above ground. The boys, ages 5 and 6, were taken to Albany Medical Center, where they were admitted for serious injuries. One suffered a traumatic head injury, officials said. A 10-year-old girl who was inside suffered minor scrapes when she fell, according to her mother. One of the boys landed on a parked car while the other landed on pavement after being tossed out of the toy when the incident happened at about 3:20 p.m. off Ferry Boulevard. Taylor Seymour, a resident of the apartment building where the accident occurred, said the wind picked the structure up and spun it around as if it was in a small tornado. One boy was thrown 30 or 40 feet northeast onto Ferry Boulevard, the other about 20 feet southeast, landing on the back of Seymour’s car. The bounce house was at least 15 feet off the ground when the boys flew out. “It was like a horror movie,” she said. “It just kept going up and up. It cleared our building and the trees.” A neighbor said the younger boy suffered two broken arms and facial injuries, while the older boy suffered a serious head injury. Both were reportedly conscious and alert at the hospital later Tuesday. The wind blew the house more than 50 feet in the air, from in front of a four-apartment complex at 22 Ferry Blvd. to the fields behind Oliver W. Winch Middle School, according to police and the girl’s mother, who spoke on condition her name not be published. The inflatable structure had to clear a large stretch of woods to get to school property. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I never rented one of these when the boys were little. There always seemed to be kids getting hurt inside of them. Who knew they had the power to take off. Absolutely freaky!

It will be taking pictures of flowers. It won't be just a flower shot, but the unique attributes about them. The differences among them from stems, petals, thorns, a leaf or two, the buds inside the petals and their one of a kind shapes. It would be cool to do extreme close ups. I just have to decide if I want them in color or black and white. Much like the white wall that I have created in my living room, this would be a wall creation for my bathroom.

Monday, May 12, 2014, 1:12:54 AM- Hugs to all of the Moms.
My Dad was m Mom, so Happy Mother's Day to those men who take on both roles and Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms here on NN. #1 Son called and wished me a good day and said that he loves me and was so glad that I was his Ma. Then he asked for some money. hahaha. According to him, Moms are good for hugs, reassurance, love, a cheese sammich in the middle of the night and cash. #2 Son called and also wished me a Happy Moms Day. His conversation was about being there for him when he wasn't feeling well, my willingness to fix food no matter what time it was, ironing his clothes and making the ultimate sacrifice by pushing him out of my vag. Yes, those were his words. I nearly busted a rib laughing so loud. He said "It's true Ma, women rule for doing that" So, Happy Mother's Day to those moms who make the ultimate sacrifice.........hahahaha.

Saturday, May 10, 2014, 9:25:08 PM- It's Lego Saturday!
College Student gets much sought after internship with a Lego Resume. A college junior's clever use of Legos has landed her a prestigious internship. Northwestern University junior Leah Bowman, 20, starts work in June at Chicago ad agency Energy BBDO, thanks largely to a job application made out of Legos. When Bowman was home during spring break last year, she got the idea to market herself using her and her dad's Lego collection, she told ABC News. "I got the idea brainstorming with my parents," she said. "It came to me on a Saturday morning, and by Sunday night I'd designed it -- an ad for myself. I assembled it on Monday." What she made was a "mini-me" along with a poster that said: "LEAH. Build the perfect Account Service intern! New for 2014!" She sent out posters and Legos to potential employers, including ad agencies. Bowman is majoring in communication studies at Northwestern with a certificate in "integrated marketing." She also has a minor in anthropology. Kristen Quinlan, human resources manager at Energy BBDO, was one of the people on the receiving end of Bowman's self-advertisement. "She created a splash," she said of Bowman. "She definitely got herself noticed from her gimmick. I wanted to talk to her." After interviewing, Bowman was chosen as one of only 16 summer interns. They were picked from a pile of some 1,000 applicants, Quinlan said. "I've recevied a few wacky, unique things over the years from people trying to get their foot in the door," Quinlan said. "She did it in a good way, a very positive way. She got herself noticed." What mattered more is that when she spoke with Bowman on the phone, she said she found that there was substance under the splash. "She was a very smart, bright, articulate young woman -- and she had some prior experience already," Quinlan said. It didn't hurt that Bowman's Lego resume had gone viral. "She got herself picked up on social media, because she'd done something creative," Quinlan said, noting creativity is the lifeblood of advertising. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You just never know these days. It's all about being clever and then backing it up.
