Gift PremiumOdd yet delightfully intriguing. Morbid yet very very sweet. Sarcasm is part of who I am.....deal with it.

Sunday, January 12, 2014, 10:07:23 PM- My camera is talking to me.
There he sits, on a shelf...all alone. It may be the medication I am on or it just might be the fact that I haven't taken him out for a spin....lol. But he calls to me "Please, grab me, use me, click my shutter, push my buttons" What do I do? I talk back to it "Don't give me that sad look. If I have to wait, so do you! and then stick my tongue out at it. I have some photography to catch up on, not to mention some adventures to seek. I think I will put a towel over the camera. This way I won't see the sad faces he has been giving me. If the toaster or the oven start talking to me, I will call the doctor and have him change my meds.

Anatomy of a Germ. What I thought was some lil germ for a cold, wasn't. Son of a bitch! This has been rough. I woke up New Years Day with a scratchy throat and stuffy nose. I have felt that feeling before, so I assumed it was a sinus thing. I headed out to the pharmacy and loaded up on Sudafed and went about my New Years Day walk. I spent hours along the beach taking pictures. Thursday, I wasn't feeling any better. I felt it creeping and creeping along my body. Late Friday night, it was worse. I couldn't hear, I started losing my voice, the coughing was wreaking havoc and I couldn't breathe. So I doubled up on the Sudafed and cold meds. But where did the fever come from? Also on Friday night before bed, things got messy and flem turned green...icky!! We all know what that means. I had an infection somewhere. Saturday I was incapacitated and could barely move, but I pushed on with things that needed to be done. Sunday, I cried all day from the pounding in my head and body. I don't cry over pain. I just don't. The natural Endorphins kick in and I pretty much laugh. I was stubborn by not heading to the doctors last week, but who runs to the doctors over a fever and stuffy nose? Like I said, when Sunday rolled around, I was defeated. I went to the clinic first thing Monday morning and the doc lowered the boom. Two ear infections, a sinus infection and the onset of Strep Throat. As soon as he pumped some meds into me via 3 needles, that started the ball rolling. Tonight I can am feeling better and see the light at the end of this mean ole germ. I took a nice long nap in a hot bath and woke up with a slightly clearer voice, one of my ears feels unclogged and I can breathe without feeling that my lungs are the size of almonds...lol My throat and tongue are starting to pink up a bit. I guess the injections started on that infection first. Who knows. All I know is that this has been awful and according to the doctor, I have about a week or so more to go. I felt human enough check in with my dear Whisper, write this and to actually pick up a few items of clothing off of the floor. My apartment looks as if my sisters live here...which basically equals 40 slobs....lol Thank you so very much for the well wishes. It made me smile. I am over the hump and still taking all of the antibiotics. Trust me, I am not pushing it. I have orders to follow and will head on back to bed now. I hope everyone is feeling healthy. I will be back soon to annoy all of you. You can count on that.

Sunday, January 5, 2014, 3:44:28 AM- Kindness brings kindness.
Because my future daughter in laws car was demolished in the accident, we were all getting ready to pitch in some money in order to get her a rental car. She did not have rental car replacement, so what else could we do? E returned for light duty last Thursday and all of her co-workers are helping her around the office. My son was going to drive her and pick her up everyday, which is his responsibility. Even during his class schedule, he was going to drive her everyday. E has only been at this job for less than a year, but her co-workers realized very quickly just how kind and giving she is to everyone. When we talked today, she told me that one of the directors stepped forward and loaned her his extra car until the insurance company comes through. He even went so far as to put temporary insurance on the extra driver until the end of January. That man is an angel in my book. Things like this truly do warm my heart. Humanity. We can call ourselves human but it is the circumstances put before us that make us so.

Saturday, January 4, 2014, 6:59:37 PM- It's Lego Saturday!
My love for the Hummingbird is endless. This giant Ruby-Throated Hummingbird magically hovers 8 feet in the air as it feeds out of giant flowers. The sculpture took a team of Lego Lovers over 4 weeks to design and 5 weeks to build with 31,565 LEGO pieces. The sculpture was installed in April 2012 at Reiman Gardens in Iowa as part of my traveling exhibition, Nature Connects. The sculpture and 26 others will be traveling the United States in 2014. The designer and master construction engineer is Sean Kenney.
