tommygirl's blog post - my first blog entry.....

Well here it goes with my very first blog entry. I guess I really never knew what to write before but I certainly enjoy reading and commenting on blogs from some of the awesome people I have met here at nn.

I think all of you would agree (that know me) that I am a very strong, independent woman. Well today......I am very WEAK. My baby..my youngest daughter (age 5) is ill. I took her to the doctor's yesterday with swollen glands and expected to come home with a prescription for an ear/gland infection.....end of story. Well, that didn't happen. There is no obvious sign of any infection - just swollen lymph glands and no explanation. She was taken to hospital at 7 am this morning for a battery of tests and now we just wait and see. Could be something simple...could be more complicated.....in any event...."mommy" is NOT coping well at all.

For those that expected something happy or quick witted for my first entry...I apologize. I will try to do much better next time but for now I just needed to sit down and type something...to get it off my chest so to speak.

TG, I'll be thinking of the two of you. As a parent I can fully relate. When our children are ill and there is nothing we can do, that is the hardest thing to cope with.
