after a night from hell and my "mother's intuition" I headed to my family doctor this morning. Turns out we were misdiagnosed last night. My daughter is not suffering from poison ivy but rather shingles. This explains a whole lot of things but mainly why she was in so much pain. After a phone consultation with Sick Children's Hospital we have been given an anti-viral medication and a heavy dose of pain medication. With that also came a warning that the worse may still be yet to come. This can last for weeks and the pain can last long after the blisters have healed. I will keep all of you posted and thanks for the love and support shown by so many.
I am relieved at least if only to know what I am up against.
