Well, it seems that following the shootings in Arizona some of our brighter minds have come up with the idea to limit the magazine capacity of firearms and ban the sale of extended magazines.
Ooookay. Uh, didn't we try that once before? It was called the Brady Bill, and even the anti-gunners admitted it didn't do a damned thing to reduce gun crimes. That's why after it expired there was no push to renew it, because it didn't work.
But, since we want a "feel good" measure, some symbolic gesture that we are doing something to prevent a tragedy like this from ever occurring again, what the hell, why not? *rollseyes*
First, the problem here was not the guns, or the fact that he had guns. The problem was the shooter was a nutcase, and folks, you can pass all the laws against mental illness you want, but it isn't going to do a damned bit of good.

I mean, would it have made any difference if he'd used a machete instead of a gun? Not really, in my opinion. You'd still have a bunch of dead and wounded people. But, since it's obviously the gun's fault...
Yeah, okay, enough of that. LOL I figured I'd post it here instead of stirring shit in the forums.
